Adelaide, October 20, 2019 – Solar Team Eindhoven from the Eindhoven University of Technology has won the first prize in
Solar Team Eindhoven was founded in 2012 and has since become the world champion four times in the Cruiser Class of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, a race over a distance of 3022 km (Darwin to Adelaide). The BWSC takes place every other year and the most recent one has concluded at the 20th of October, 2019.
In September 2018, the team began designing the fourth solar-powered family car: Stella Era. Stella Era is the world’s first self-driving charging station on wheels.
The team consists of 26 students from Eindhoven University of Technology. Stella Era is the fourth family car of Solar Team Eindhoven (STE). Its predecessors are Stella (2013), Stella Lux (2015) and Stella Vie (2017).

The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is a contest for solar cars in two classes: the Cruiser and the Challenger Class. Solar Team Eindhoven is four-time world champion in the Cruiser Class with the Stella solar cars.
