In the Netherlands and many other countries, the energy-production is still largely based on burning coal, gas and oil. The tremendous amounts of CO2 generated by these processes cannot be handled anymore by the environmental cycles. A large part of these emissions come from transporting people. Our goal is to show that sustainable mobility is already possible. We are Solar Team Eindhoven, a team of 22 students from the Eindhoven University of Technology who put a hold on their study to build the car of the future.
In 2013, we built Stella, the world’s first solar-powered family car. Stella was the first step towards the car of the future and with her we have shown that we can complete the 3000 km long World Solar Challenge with a family car.
In 2015, we built Stella Lux, the energy-positive family car. With her we have shown that it is possible that a car not only consumes energy, but also delivers energy! Even in Dutch weather conditions.
Both cars have proven that sustainable mobility is closer than we think. Now it’s time to take the next step with a new team towards the car of the future. A future in which cars produce energy instead of consuming it and in which the current difficulties associated with sustainable driving are over. Join us in this next step to invest in the future. Help us to make the world more sustainable.
